Description
This author style lesson plan helps students to discover examples of author’s style as they examine diction, details, voice, and syntax to determine the style of writing. Through the author style examples, students will have a discussion learning the intricacies of a writer’s craft and writing style. In this print or digital lesson, students will start by identifying the main elements that determine the author’s style and then place all those examples together to determine the author’s style. All worksheets allow you to customize your lesson to author’s style with a short story of your choice or use the examples provided. Students will then write a constructed response that asks them to analyze the author’s style to highlight the author’s purpose. This mini lesson will help to improve the student’s understanding of literature.
